Cookie Policy
1. How MenuMargin Stores Session and Preference Data
MenuMargin uses a mix of browser storage and cookies. Much of what the app needs is kept in your browser's local storage or session storage rather than in traditional HTTP cookies, so the sections below describe both.
Nothing optional is stored until you choose it. Analytics storage stays switched off until you give permission, and you can change or withdraw that permission at any time using the link in the footer of every page.
2. Essential and Functional Storage
Essential storage is required for the service to work securely and reliably. It is not optional, and it is created only when the relevant part of the service is used.
- mm_cookie_consent — stores your cookie-consent choice and the time you made it, so we can honour it on later visits. Provider: MenuMargin. Category: essential. Stored in local storage, and written only when you make a consent choice.
- sb-<project-ref>-auth-token — maintains your signed-in authentication session. Provider: Supabase, on behalf of MenuMargin. Category: essential. Written only for signed-in users.
- In-progress audit and magic-button state — keeps your active menu audit or magic-button flow in place while you work through it, including across a page refresh. Provider: MenuMargin. Category: essential/functional. Held in session storage and created only when you start that action.
3. Preferences Storage
- mm_newsletter_email — remembers an email address you have voluntarily entered into the newsletter form, so you do not have to type it again. Provider: MenuMargin. Category: preferences. Created only after you take that action.
4. Statistics and Analytics Cookies
MenuMargin uses Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-FT279K0080, provided by Google. Category: statistics/analytics. We use it to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
Google Analytics is not loaded when you arrive. The tag is requested only after you have given analytics consent, and until then Google Consent Mode is set to deny analytics storage. If you choose “Essential Only”, the Google Analytics script is never requested and no analytics cookies are set.
Once you have given analytics consent, Google Analytics may set the cookies _ga and _ga_FT279K0080, which are used to distinguish visitors and sessions.
You can refuse analytics at any time, and you can withdraw consent later through the link. When you withdraw it, we set Google Consent Mode back to denied, switch off further Google Analytics activity for the rest of that page session, and attempt to remove the analytics cookies listed above. Removing cookies from within the site is a best-effort step rather than a guarantee, so you may also wish to clear cookies through your browser settings. Once consent is withdrawn, the tag is not loaded again on later visits unless you turn analytics back on.
5. Stripe and Payment-Related Cookies
When you move into checkout or subscription management flows, Stripe may set cookies or similar identifiers for fraud prevention, payment security, and checkout reliability. Those controls are part of Stripe's payment infrastructure rather than MenuMargin advertising or profiling activity.
6. Fonts and Other Third-Party Delivery
The typefaces used across the site are delivered by Google Fonts. This means that when a page loads, your browser may make a connection to Google's font-delivery services in order to fetch the font files. Google Fonts is used to deliver typography only; it is not an analytics or advertising service, and it does not set cookies on this site.
7. Advertising and Marketing
At the time of this policy's last update, our review of the live site found no advertising or marketing pixels, retargeting tags, or ad network trackers in use. If our use of cookies or similar technologies changes, we will update this policy, and where consent is required we will ask for it before anything non-essential is loaded.
8. Managing Your Choices
To summarise how consent works on this site:
- Non-essential analytics storage is switched off until you give consent.
- You can choose “Essential Only” and continue to use the service normally.
- You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of every page. Signed-in users can also manage analytics and marketing preferences in their account settings.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings and clear local storage through browser privacy tools. Please note that blocking or clearing essential session storage may prevent login, billing, or core application functionality from working correctly.
